Our farm covers an area of 580 acres and is situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty on the coast between Woolacombe and Ilfracombe. The farmland runs between two valleys, from the main road at the entrance to the site out to the coast and cliffs, this includes land rented from the National Trust at Bull point and on the coast between Bull Point and Lee Bay.
Our stock is made up of a sheep flock of 500 ewes which lamb at Easter producing an average of 900 lambs, and a beef herd of some 100 cattle which includes a spring calving suckler herd. Staying on the campsite at Easter is a great time to see new born lambs and calves at Damage Barton. We have a stewardship scheme running on the farm, this enables us to work on restoration projects to retain traditional features on the farm such as stonewalls, Devon banks, hedgerows, the mill pond and wildflower meadow.
